There's Knitting In The House!

Look!! Socks!!
The bad thing about moving is sometimes the label falls off and you can't remember what the yarn is, or who sold it to you, or how to wash it. The good thing is it still makes up into a really cool sock that actually doesnt look so bad with the MAJOR amount of pooling going on. Personally I think it's kind of hypnotic.

This is a basic sock with a 6k-1p-2k-1p rib pattern. This is one of my favorite patterns simply because it is mindless but looks a bit busy. I love the little stripey toes!!

Ravelraiser!!!

Yarn Harlot--Whew! I Barely Made It!

The basement flooded at my parents home during all this rain in Lexington. Now for a lot of people this doesnt sound like much. BUT this particular basement hasn't flooded since our family moved there in 1966***! And usually I wouldnt be too bent out of shape about it. HOWEVER it had to happen the AM of the Harlots annual visit to our fine city.
Not to worry. I got there! Albeit late, after the speaking. Just in time to be in the last of the line to get my books signed. It was a good thing.
Whew!

[*** I have no idea if this basement has EVER flooded before. But I do know at no time during the time my family has lived there. No. Flooding. Period. From 1966-2008. None. ]

OMG Knitting Content!

Last April when the Yarn Harlot was in town for a book signing I was working on my first Forest Canopy Shawl. She will be in Lexington this Saturday (a year later). I figured I had better block it and 'get'er done'!

The bed is where I block my big stuff. After this project I'm thinking that blocking wires and some kind of pad would be a better medium with which to work.

Hmmm...... Follow the blue lace road??

After all, it only takes 11 months for a shawl to cure properly before you can block it. Right??
