It's Here!!! It's Here!!!

My copy of "More Sensational Socks" arrived today! I'm going to go pick out still another sock to be working on. So far the count is 3 pairs in progress. With this new sock I will choose from the book, it will be 4!( You know what ? I'll bet you guys figured that out by yourselves didn't you?)
The arrival on this book was actually kind of coincidental. It followed yesterdays delivery of my Rockin' Socks Club (bi-monthly) and my Spunky Club (monthly) installments. So it stands to reason one of these MUST be used. It's fate leading the way. Karma if you will.
By the way. If I'm only knitting one thing at a time, something is very very wrong. Send in the National Guard, chicken soup, money or just come by yourself to check on me. Just FYI.

"More Sensational Socks" is on its way to me. Amazon just sent me the shipping confirmation!! Whoooohooooo!!!
Ok. I'm calming down and going to work now.

The Longest Sock

No I'm not talking about length. It's taken me forever to knit this pair My work schedule has been peppered with requisite classes and certifications. And my usual two days off have been shortened or completely take up. So this truly is a pair of "lunch hour" socks. Even the time at lunch was short. BUT these were worth it and I am very happy with the results.

I love the way the colors pool. The yarn came from To Knit Perchance To Dream and is her special colorway for the Sockret Pal swap. It's soft and easy to work with AND if nothing else bright! My next pair is from the Favorite Socks book from Interweave, Cable Rib. Hopefully those will not take as long.

Good news is I will have some time soon to do a bit of extracurricular knitting. A little time off from work, some R&R. I cant wait.

The Danger Is Gone.

Mom and I went into combat mode today. We deep cleaned. We checked all wool items including my entire stash. Every skein and ball was at attention. All rugs were inspected. Even favorite sweaters were suspect. And, although Mom has lain claim to half my sock yarn, it was well worth it the time and trouble. It's a dirty job but someone had to do it!

Guess What I Did Today?

Thursday is my only FULL day off during the week.
Granted, Wednesday, technically, is the other day off but I work from 7pm Tuesday to 7am Wednesday, so most of it is spent sleeping. Since I had the whole day off I did some "catch-up" things, paid bills, went to the bookstore to buy a book for my SockretPal, picked up a pre-Lent yarn order (yes I give up yarn buying for Lent) and then???? I signed up for a class. And nothing exotic either, a short row heel class!
Ok I heard some snickers over there in the corner. Knock it off.... Really. I just can't get the hang of it. Maybe if I sat through a class I will get it. I mean, I love my flap heel and all, but I want to expand my horizons. Nothing wrong with that eh?

Miss Me?

My life is getting in the way of my blogging and even worse (and horrors of horrors!), my knitting. Actually not my life, just work.

I have been knitting on my lunchbreaks, a little bit before work and a touch after. Not a lot but enough to keep me sane. If I knit a bit each day, I don't need Valium or Xanax! Whoohoo!
